Robert Half Senior Accountant in Albany, Oregon

Description

Do you have experience working with intercompany transactions and reconciliation and working knowledge of tax compliance as it pertains to state and federal level regulations? Robert Half has frequent needs from our clients in the Albany area for Senior Accountants. As a senior accountant, you will analyze complex financial records and reports and oversee company accounting operations. Senior accountants regulate and authenticate financial transactions and maintain a ledger to ensure effectiveness and accuracy of all accounting tasks. It is your job to balance accounts and confirm and verify bank statements on behalf of the company. You will need experience using electronic ledger systems. You should have sound analytical skills and advanced skills using Microsoft Excel. Additionally, you will need a thorough knowledge of accounting procedures, including preparing month-end reports and financial forecasts.

Job Duties:

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in developing budgets and financial forecasts to guide decision-making and financial planning.

  • Reconciliation: Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data by reconciling accounts and resolving discrepancies.

  • Tax Compliance: Prepare and file tax returns, and stay up-to-date with tax regulations to minimize liabilities.

  • Audit Support: Coordinate and assist with internal and external audits, ensuring compliance and addressing audit findings.

  • Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis, identify trends, and provide recommendations for improving financial performance.

  • General Ledger Management: Maintain the general ledger, post journal entries, and oversee month-end and year-end close processes.

  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, managing invoices, payments, and collections.

  • Cost Control: Analyze costs and recommend cost-saving strategies, as well as monitor and control expenses.

  • Compliance and Regulation: Ensure adherence to accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.

    Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA or relevant certification preferred.

  • Experience: Typically, 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience, including prior experience in a Senior Accountant role.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and financial modeling. Familiarity with ERP systems is a plus.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.

  • Communication: Effective written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to present financial data to stakeholders.

  • Teamwork: Collaborative and able to work well in cross-functional teams.

  • Organizational Skills: Strong time management and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

  • Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of GAAP, tax laws, and financial regulations.

  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing business needs and technologies.

  • Integrity: High ethical standards and the ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion.
