Description

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Billing Clerk, based in Baltimore, Maryland. The selected candidate will be responsible for preparing invoices and other billing functions. This role is situated in a bustling workplace environment that thrives on accuracy and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare invoices in an accurate and timely manner using the Elite accounting system

• Perform adjustments to unbilled time and disbursements as necessary

• Ensure completed billing is returned to attorneys/secretaries within the established timeframe

• Monitor billing received from billing attorneys and provide a report to the Lead Billing Representative each month

• Process special billing as necessary and required

• Respond to inquiries from attorneys and secretaries regarding billing, client accounts, and time entry

• Assist with month-end closing tasks

• Undertake and complete special projects as assigned by the Lead Billing Representative, Finance & Operations Manager

• Utilize Microsoft Excel and other billing software as necessary to perform tasks efficiently

• Maintain strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills to resolve billing issues and inquiries.

Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role

• Proficiency in billing procedures and preparing invoices

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and billing software

• Proven ability to manage month-end close procedures

• Experience in handling billing functions and preparing billing statements

• Strong organizational and communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• High level of attention to detail and accuracy

• Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures is preferred

• Adaptability and flexibility to manage changing priorities and workload.
