Amazon Senior UX Designer in New York, New York

Description

Come join the Buy with Prime UX team to help fulfill our vision of enabling every entrepreneur in the world to reach every customer in the world through every channel they can imagine. In this role, you'll work backwards from customer needs in multi-channel fulfillment and supply chain use cases, working with your partners to apply insights-driven decision making and articulate a north star vision, clarify product strategy, and define a near-term MLP that is intuitive, accessible, and scalable.

We are looking for a talented Sr. UX Designer to help design our next generation systems. You’ll work closely with a cross-functional group of UX researchers, UX writers, engineers, product managers, and executives to propose and deliver the best possible customer experience for our products.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong ideation skills, holistic design thinking, attention to detail, and passion for making difficult tasks into simple and delightful experiences for the user. You must be able to work with ambiguity in a fast paced environment and deliver design that elevates the customer experience.

Key job responsibilities

Own the CX from beginning to end and ensure product/feature is built to spec and achieves project goals.

Conduct user research to understand user behaviors, needs, and motivations.

Translate research findings into actionable insights and design solutions.

Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs to communicate design concepts.

Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure design feasibility and alignment with project goals.

Iterate designs based on user feedback, usability testing, and data analysis.

Work inventively around constraints and navigate ambiguous situations.

Be a passionate and effective advocate for design with non-design audiences.

Build relationships and communicate effectively with local and remote cross-functional teams.

About the team

Buy with Prime UX is a centralized design and research organization with the Stores organization. Our designers, researchers, writers, and program managers operate as embedded design team members within domain areas to build subject matter expertise, while reporting and operating as a centralized team to drive consistency across products, establish cohesive North Star vision artifacts for Buy with Prime, and support career growth.

Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years of design experience

  • Have an available online portfolio

  • Experience with design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign and prototyping in HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Ajax

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with UX design of complex workflows

  • Experience acquiring user data (e.g., conducting usability studies, performing user research) and creating personas and journey maps

  • Experience designing exceptional UX for SMB and/or enterprise business application systems

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $113,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $211,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
