Position Description:

We are seeking a Senior AWS DevOps Engineer to join our CGI team!

You will be part of our team in providing Infrastructure support for one of our long-standing government clients!

This position can be located at any CGI office in the U.S; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

How you'll make an impact

You will apply deep technical expertise to the design, implementation, testing, and ongoing support of CGI’s DevOps tool chain, and serves as an expert CI/CD and cloud platform technologies.  

• Analyzes code development, testing, and deployment processes and technologies to develop streamlined code pipelines and more fully automated Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) toolchains

• Integrates a diverse set of tools, including Terraform, Jira, Bitbucket, Bamboo, and AWS CloudFormation to automate the continuous development, integration, deployment, testing, release, operation, and monitoring of multiple applications

• Develops scripts to automate systems administration activities

• Troubleshoots and resolves middleware issues across development, testing, and production environments in both on premise and cloud environments

• Performs deployments of custom and Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) code/software

• Installs, configures, and manages middleware applications located on premise and in Amazon Web Services (AWS), working with internal service groups as required to ensure system availability and uptime meet project requirements

• Works with applications team and system architects to identify and implement solutions which improve the speed of production code delivery

• Works with peers within and beyond the Operations team to define and characterize complex technology or process problems and develop & implement new solutions

• As needed, assists with the development of Operations white papers, proposals, and other documentation

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

What you'll bring

• 5+ years of AWS DevOps Engineer experience

• 5+ years of experience developing, automating, and monitoring CI/CD pipeline utilizing one or more of the following tools:

o Ansible

o Jenkins

o Bitbucket

o Bamboo

o AWS CloudFormation

o Terraform

• AWS DevOps Engineer, AWS SysOps Administrator Certification or equivalent AWS Cloud Engineering/Architecture experience

• 3-5 years of System Administration experience

• 3-5 years of Weblogic Application Server Administration experience

• Experience supporting AWS platforms and technologies including S3, ECS, EKS, Fargate, EC2, and Lambda

• Experience supporting fast-paced development environments utilizing Agile, SDLC and/or other systems development methodologies

• Ability to analyze and decompose processes for the purpose of automation

• Excellent troubleshooting and root cause-analysis skills

• Experience working with third party service providers such as vendors and internal support groups

• Ability to exercise independent judgment in driving technical problems to resolution

• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

• Ability to mentor other team members in areas of technical expertise

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS/NON-ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

• Local and Wide area networking technologies

• Database technologies, preferably oracle and PostgreSQL

• 3-5 years of experience working in an outsourced/managed services environment

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $85,800 - $190,100."
