Aerotek Mechanic in Surrey, British Columbia

Aerotek is hiring a Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic

Description:

The Mechanic will be working on over 100 pieces of equipment such as power sweepers, pressure washers, salt spreaders. They will be doing: regular planned maintenance, urgent repairs and projects such as equipment rebuilds.

• Day to day basis they maintain all their own equipment – 2 shops

• Variety of equipment and ever changing needs – some days it will be a project for a couple days – how if a truck breaks down the equipment needs to get back on

• And regular scheduled maintenance

• Truck rebuilds – street sweepers, water trucks, hydroexovated – small engine repairs

• different times of year snow clearing in winter services (fall) – Street sweepers, engine rebuild, propane conversion for high technical candidates

• Strong electrical exp. is an asset

• Projects VS preventive maintenance – variety of work and equipment

• Contractor own equipment, level of urgency – everyone tackles the jobs general maintenance and repairs

• Tackle breakdowns – contractor and doing our best to keep up on our equipment and do everything we can to do our

• Ability to do a variety of work and shift gears easily

• Dirty equipment - they Service and cleaning for other people

• No routine

• 100 pieces of equipment from small to big 12 sweepers 3 vaccumers and pick up trucks 8 machine sin Kelowna and 20 light vehicles in maple ridge and 20 water trucks – small engine salt spreaders, power trucks, power washers

• Apprentices will learn a lot not just oil changes – would be hard to take on a apprentice from Aerotek

• 15 years old to brand new different models and types of sweepers

• No computer systems or knowledge required. all paper log

MUST HAVE:

• Red Seal CT mechanic or Red Seal HD mechanic

• Own basic mechanic's tools

• 5+ years as a Mechanic

• Must have a valid BC driver’s license (Abstract, Driver Factor Report and Insurance & Claims History is required for employment)

NICE TO HAVE

• Welding and Fabrication Experience

• Hydraulic experience

• electrical experience

• Propane conversion experience
