As a result of continued growth within our Accounting Advisory (https://www.cbh.com/services/advisory/risk-accounting-advisory/accounting-advisory-services/) practice, we are currently seeking a Senior Associate for our national team that will have the flexibility to sit in of any of our offices or work remotely with travel for specific projects as needed. Our practice’s industry-focused teams (Financial Services; Industrial & Consumer Goods; Private Equity; Professional Services; Real Estate, Construction & Hospitality Technology & Life Sciences) provide turn-key solutions from past experience to create long-term solutions for their current needs with a forward-looking lens of the future.

As a Senior Associate, you will:

Work with a team of professionals to provide consulting services to multiple client relationships as they navigate complex technical accounting and financial reporting events; participate in all stages of engagements including providing assistance with planning, field work, engagement wrap up and deliverable composition. Examples of typical value-added projects undertaken by our professionals encompass: accounting standard implementation, support throughout the Initial Public Offering (IPO) and SPAC process, accounting implications from a business combination, carve-out audits, financial statement conversions, complex debt/equity transactions; and other engagements related to:

  • Revenue Recognition (ASC 606)

  • Business Combinations (ASC 805)

  • Convertible Instruments within the Scope of Distinguishing Liabilities from Equity (ASC 480) & Derivatives (ASC 815)

  • Stock-Based Compensation (ASC 718)

  • SEC Reporting – Financial Statement, Footnotes, MD&A, and Pro Formas Preparation

  • IPO / PCAOB Readiness

  • Segment Reporting

  • IFRS / US GAAP Conversions

What you bring to the role:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting and CPA license (active or in process)

  • Three (3) or more years of experience within a public accounting firm and/or industry environment performing audit, accounting or consulting services for SEC registered public companies required

  • Proven experience and interest in technical accounting matters, such as IPO/SPAC, ASC 480, 606, 718, 805 or 815, as well as SEC reporting

  • Experience preparing financial statements, footnotes, reconciliations, month-end close, accounting memos, and audit schedules for public filings (10-Q or 10-K)

  • Exposure to Cash to GAAP conversions, IFRS to US GAAP conversions, and SEC reporting

  • Experience in an environment with SAP, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Workday, Yardi, or Quickbooks

  • Strong organizational skills including experience with planning and leading a project from start to finish

  • Capable of managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously while working independently and within a group environment

  • Robust written and verbal communication skills, including ability to adapt style and messaging to effectively communicate with professionals at all levels both within the client organization and the firm

  • Strong analytical and diagnostic skills, with a focus on details and accuracy

  • Travel as needed for firm meetings and client site visits up to 35%

Additional, preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience working with accounting departments in other countries

  • SEC reporting experience using software, such as Workiva, Toppan Merrill or DFIN

  • Experience implementing and using Blackline, Workiva, OneStream, or FloQast

  • Demonstrated use of analyzing large data sets using tools such as Alteryx, Tableau and/or Python

The salary range for this position is $70,585 to $154,300. Individual salaries within this range are determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education, knowledge, skills, and geographic location.
